At Concordia Damen Shipbuilding, the naming ceremony of the first inland vessel in Holland that is able to sail emission-free was held. Owner Sendo Shipping named their youngest addition to their extensive fleet “Sendo Liner”. From the shape of the hull to the rudders, the whole ship has been designed to have extra loading capacity at the same amount of draught. The ships’ design, in combination with the hybrid propulsion system of the company Hybrid Ship Propulsion, resulted in a spectacular fuel efficiency, making the “Sendo Liner” one of the most sustainable ships out there. By powering the electrical propulsion by the battery-pack, the ship is able to sail emission-free. With that, the “Sendo Liner” rightfully earnt the title “ship of the future”.

At Oechies Elektrotechniek, we are proud to have been part of the realisation of this ambitious project. We wish the “Sendo Liner” and her crew a smooth sailing!
