Shipyard De Hoop
Custom-build sea-going vessels & inland vessels
With the turn of the year from 2018 to 2019, Shipyard De Hoop will celebrate its 130th anniversary. Over the years, they have always focused on custom-build sea-going vessels and inland vessels. The shipyard is headquartered in Lobith, in the east of The Netherlands, with 250 to 500 employees depending on the workload. A number of 100 up to 150 local partners, being shipbuilding staff as well as a dedicated group of suppliers and subcontractors that have on-site offices and facilities atthe yard, frequently complement their 150 permanently employed craftsmen.
Shipyard De Hoop has an impressive track record in designing, engineering and constructing a large range of custom-build offshore and inshore vessels. Where inland designs are mainly focussed on large cruise and day passenger vessels and specialised work or transport-vessels, the offshore vessels comprise of an even larger variety, distinguishing the following categories: dredgers, offshore /diving support vessels, suppliers, semisubmersibles, tugs and push boats, chemical tankers and container vessels.
Furthermore, over the recent years, Shipyard De Hoop has been developing several designs for small expedition cruise vessels.
Having their own design and engineering department, together with all other production disciplines (not only hull building but also prefabrication, carpentry/interior manufacturing, installation and outfitting facilities, piping, etc.), allows them to build a complete ‘turn-key’ ship. Their specialised staff has a pro-active approach to trends and developments in the industry, allowing them to quickly embrace changes and even anticipate future developments.
Shipyard De Hoop designs and builds complete highly-customised vessels from start to finish, whilst the development and building process is characterised by flexibility and quality, offering fast delivery dates and cost effective solutions.
